Painting completed!

I finally have shots of my furlough painting the week away. I think they turned out rather well! This is the kitchen from the back door. (You can see PPaz hanging out by the futon.

Here's my favorite wall. That deep red is amazing! (And goes well with the love seat Phil & Anna gave me!)

Angle from the other end of the house... I love the crisp lines that divide the wall.

Living room - I thought it would be fun to add a different shade to give the room more depth. It's a slight difference and hard to tell from this pic - but if you look hard enough you can see it.

I don't think I ever did a finished pic of the blue accent wall.... so here it is!

ahhh... a job well done feels sooooo good!

Work Travel

So for training this year, I get to attend workshops in the beautiful city of....

Sioux Falls!

Anyone know where that is?

South Dakota

Did you get it right? (I didn't.)

Yeah - my trip to San Diego was nixed since 2 others in my office already have dibs for it.
So, what could be a better way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo than Sioux Falls?

Anybody been there? Guess I won't have too much time to sight see... but it'd be nice to have a warm destination for my travel. I'm soooo ready for Spring!

St. Patty's Day

BUSTED! I can't believe I forgot it's St. Patrick's Day today!
Guess that's what happens when your head is in the clouds.

So - in the past 9 days I've been out with a wonderful guy (from my ward) on 4 dates. We've had sooo much fun watching movies, talking, going to dinner, and enjoying Celtic Night at the Eccles. I' haven't had this much fun well....EVER. The more I get to know him the more impressed I am. Not sure what the future will hold, but it's refreshing to know there's someone out there that's decent and NORMAL. And it doesn't hurt to have fun along the way!

Last week my engine light went on... took me until today to get it in. Turns out there's lots of problems and the rest of my tax refund will be in repair bills. At least I'm getting them fixed before getting stranded somewhere. That would not be fun.

Hope you all remembered to wear green... or at least enjoy getting pinched!

Back to the grind...

Furlough week flew by!
It's good though because I feel refreshed and it's starting to warm up again.

Since everyone on campus was off, I don't have the PILES of work usually waiting for me after time from the office.

Looking forward to a fast work week and Celtic Night at the Eccles tonight!

Furlough

It's nice to have time off - but disappointing to see all that snow Monday morning.
I have a week jam-packed with things to do around the house, people to see and places to go.
The project taking up most of my time this week is painting the kitchen. I fell in love with the red Anna selected for the downstairs bathroom, so I'm doing an accent wall to match. The other walls are now a light creamy yellow (cassia). I can't wait until I can put the kitchen back together. (The mess is driving me insane. The good news is I only have 1 more layer and a few touch ups before it's finished.

Another highlight is INTERNET! I finally broke down and ordered me some DSL. Now if I can just to bed before 3am.

Today was filled with a visit to see Suzanne's new little baby. Soooo cute!
And I got to play with Ethan and Kile and even spend a little time with both Sammy and Josie!

Lots of other fun stuff going on too... but I don't want to jinx it, so maybe in a future blog I'll have more interesting things to post.

I'll post pics of the new kitchen soon... but the adapter is sooo far away and I don't want to leave my cozy covers. :)

I can't believe how fast the week is flying!
