Book Club!

Daddy had Zoey ready for Book Club when I came home from work. Zoey has fun wherever she's at!
We had a really fun time this month. The book was Alice in Wonderland and we watched the new Tim Burton movie. (Zoey loved the big screen at April's house.
The food was delish! And dessert was yummy!
(Braidy ROCKS!)

Gotta love fall! This is the tree we saw across the street form Ape's house.
BEAUTIFUL!

Zoey the little tease! Grammy Pammy's teaching her not to put her hands in her mouth. She giggles and puts her hands right back up to her 2 new little teeth.

If you look real close... those the camera phone pic is a little fuzzy, you can see her 2 little bottom teeth.

Name of the Wind

I just finished one of the best books I've read in a LONG time!
If you like to read and enjoy a little bit of fantasy, adventure, suspense, cheering-for-the-underdog, and overcoming a challenge, this is a MUST READ.
It took me several months to finish (with it being longer than the books I'm accustomed to, 720 ages) but it was well worth the read.
So, on to the next book for October Book Club. The Graveyard Book, by Neil Gaiman.
It's an appropriate choice with Halloween around the corner.

BIRTHDAY continuted...

For my Birthday lunch, Jennifer took me out, and let me splurge on a Piña colada at El Sol! YUMMMM! The Quesadilla was DELISH too! (Notice the cute top that my MO Mom sent me. I LOVE it!

Judy brought me down a birthday gift, my (former) insurance agent called to wish me happy birthday and see if he could do anything for me, Bishop, cuz Dez & cuz Al sent me B-day Texts. Uncle Trist hand delivered a Birthday card and cash, Uncle Dana, Jan and Al gave me a HUGE bag (3 pounds, 8 ounces) of Dark Chocolate M&M's the Sunday before - as well as my folks throwing me a birthday dinner with ice cream cake! and the perfect gift! Amelia drew me a picture, Linda and family called and sang to me, & I heard from all my brothers... what more could a girl wish for?

After work, I headed over to April's for book club. We were pleased to have the Author of our book join us. Annette Haws, author of "Waiting for the Light to Change", shared with us the background of her book and answered all of our questions. It was fun to sit down and listen to her!

When I came home from Book Club, Mac had a surprise for me! He gave me the coolest birthday card. In fact I play it over and over and over!

See! Addicting huh?
I LOVE it!

Then I was serenaded with "Happy Birthday" to me! by Mac
And I opened my present, a shredder! (I know, you're all so jealous!) But it's the PERFECT gift for me!

So, not only did I have the BEST Birthday Day, but Mac and I spent the weekend in Cedar City!

At the Shakespeare Festival we enjoyed dinner from the Pasty Pub while we enjoyed the Green Show. The actors did an amazing job on their performance of "As You Like it"!

2 days, 9 hours driving, 1.5 total hours in the pool (I even got to swim my birthday (34) lengths in the pool), we had a fun, but exhausting weekend.

It's good to be back! Makes you appreciate your own home, bed, and I won't lie... I even missed the cat. :)

Guess it's time to get back to reality...

Thanks everyone for making this the best birthday yet!

Book Club!

Catch-up/Ketchup Book Club was AWESOME!

We had homemade french fries, fry sauce, amazing BBQ chicken (with sauce made from ketchup), meat loaf, and a salad with a Catalina-type sauce (made with ketchup). and don't forget dessert. Marilynn came up with a cake made with ketchup! (It was even surprisingly good!)

YUMMM!

Can't wait for the next Book Club!
(My friends totally ROCK!)

Book Club

This month for Book Club (since it's my turn and I didn't realize it until 2 weeks before our meeting) we're doing a Catch-up/Ketchup meeting. Everyone will finish up the books they've been meaning to get to or finish and then bring a pot-luck item that does good with ketchup - or has ketchup as an ingredient! Clever huh?

I can't wait to see what everyone brings!

Audiobooks

One of my bookclub friends introduced me to the best website ever! (Thanks Wendy!)

All you need is a valid Utah Library card.
There are a ton of new releases, and classics, and children's books, and language books, etc.
You can check out 5 items at a time and have them for 14 days.

Just go to:
http://pioneerutah.lib.overdrive.com

I'm a big fan! :)
