WOW!

I just got home from my monthly HOA board meeting. I've been a trustee for a little less than 4 months and tonight we had elections since the President is moving away from the area. We voted to reorganized the Executive Board (positions for President, Treasurer, & Secretary).
I was shocked (that's a major understatement) to learn that I've been voted in as the new Secretary. Yikes! Turns out it was unanimous (except for my vote). I had no clue the other Board Members would even conciser me since I'm the newcomer.

The shock hasn't worn off yet, but deep down I'm excited about the new opportunity and excited to serve in my new capacity.

Results

Ok... so late last night, Beazer Lock & Key (insert applause here) got the offending party out of the ignition and created a new copy of the key! I'm back in business!

(Ok, well at least the dealership can finish their job of conducting the state inspection and find out why my oil light enjoys blinking when the cycle is turned on.)

So far the damage for my little mishap is $100. (Expensive lesson to learn! - but WAY better than $400 to replace the entire ignition system.)

Below is a pic of the offending party. (It's a bit fuzzy because my camera phone doesn't like closeups.)

$$$$$

So the news came back that it's going to be $180 JUST for the part (not including labor) AND the battery is dead because the key is still stuck in there. Argggggg!

I have a call out to Beazer for them to see if they can't fish out the broken part. Keep your fingers crossed... because then it will only be $50 instead of $400.

Arggggg! I can't wait until Monday is OVER! (Then the nightmare will end and my problems will end, right?)

What an expensive mistake to make. (NEVER get keys made at a superstore instead of an actual key place!)
